FAQs
Roof Top Recycling
What materials do you accept at your recycling facility, and how should I prepare my load for drop-off?
Our facility accepts loads containing at least 90% asphalt shingles. We can accommodate small quantities of paper, plastic, and minimal wood materials such as plywood and pallets. Nails may remain in the shingles. Be advised that excessive amounts of other debris may incur additional fees or result in load rejection. Please ensure your load is properly secured during transportation to prevent materials from falling out.Do you provide pick-up services for shingle recycling?
We currently do not provide direct pick-up services for recycling. Customers can either transport their shingles to our facility themselves or utilize our dumpster rental service as a convenient disposal alternative. What is the process for recycling asphalt shingles?
Our recycling process begins with collecting asphalt shingles as construction and demolition (C&D) material. We then sort through the materials to remove debris and contaminants. After cleaning, the reclaimed asphalt is transferred to our end site as recyclable material. At this location, the shingles are ground down and repurposed for new road construction projects, contributing to waste reduction and sustainable infrastructure development. What happens to the shingles after they are dropped off?
After drop-off, the shingles are processed into various materials including asphalt pavement and road base components. This recycling approach significantly reduces landfill waste while supporting environmental sustainability initiatives. Can homeowners drop off shingles, or is it only for contractors?
Our facility welcomes both homeowners and contractors to drop off shingles, provided the materials meet our established guidelines. Please note that we enforce a 1-ton minimum requirement for all loads.Do you accept other roofing materials like rubber or metal roofing?
Our facility exclusively accepts asphalt shingles for recycling. Other roofing materials including metal, slate, or rubber must be taken to alternative disposal facilities.Do I need an appointment to drop off the shingles?
No appointment is required for drop-offs, however we request that customers arrive at least 20 minutes before our closing time. This allows sufficient time for us to unload and process your shingles before the facility closes. What happens if my load does not meet your material requirements?
If your load contains excessive contamination that doesn't meet our guidelines, we may reject the entire load or apply additional processing fees to handle the non-conforming materials. Is there a minimum charge for shingle recycling?
Yes, we implement a 1-ton minimum charge that applies to all loads brought to our facility for recycling.
